LLT Garrison
LLT Garrison is a grotesque built for interfaces that have to hold their nerve. It takes the utilitarian lettering of mid-century transit and municipal signage and strips the nostalgia out of it, leaving a neutral workhorse that still holds a distinct voice at display sizes. The family spans a whisper-thin Light through an uncompromising Black.
London Fog
Garrison started as a study of stamped signage — the flat, unglamorous lettering pressed onto transit maps, ledgers and municipal forms. The goal was a face that could disappear into a product interface and then, blown up to poster scale, still be recognisably itself rather than another anonymous grotesque.
Each cut was optically corrected across sizes so that captions, running copy and towering headlines share the same steady voice. The Light is drawn tight enough to survive at eleven points; the Black is spaced for headline setting from the start, with the sidebearings pulled in rather than fixed later with tracking.
