Noto Serif Bengali

Bengali serif design lives or dies on the matra: too heavy and the page turns into a grid of black bars, too light and the line loses its spine. This family sets the matra weight per style rather than scaling it uniformly, which keeps the reading colour even across the range.

The conjunct inventory is extensive, and each stack was reviewed against the vertical metrics so that nothing collides with the line above. Interfaces that clip descenders are the usual culprit — the design leaves headroom on both sides of the baseline.
